The Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society as it promotes the safety of Bangsamoro children and protection of its communities led implementation of the Safe Education Children under Resilient Environment (SECURE) Project. The said project aims to promote safety and sustained access to inclusive quality education to 578 children of Barangay Tubac, Ampatuan, Maguindanao including Kigan and Pandan of South Upi, Maguindanao.

One of the target outcomes of the program is to increase the participants’ awareness on disaster situations it also aims to help the community be a responsible and knowledgeable person on disaster risk reduction management.

The project team headed by the CBCS Project Officer, Norman Abbas together with key stakeholders from the Barangay Council of the said Barangays conducted an orientation on RA 10121 or an act Strengthening the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction And Management System, Providing For The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Framework added with a Disaster Risk Training in the community particularly in Barangay Pandan and Kigan, South Upi last January 22 -24 2020.

The said activity was well-participated by the community people of Barangay Pandan and Kigan where children were also actively involved together with their guardians. The Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society continues its vision of a resilient community for the Bangsamoro children under the SECURE Project.
