A capacity development training on Financial Management was conducted for the five sub-recipients of the PROTECT Peace in the BARMM Project, namely Kadtabanga Foundation for Peace & Development Advocates (KFPDAI), Inc., Integrated Mindanaon Association for Natives (IMAN), Inc., Tarbilang Foundation Inc. (TFI), Gagandilan Mindanao Women, Inc. (GMWI), and Lamitan City Rosewomen Organization Inc. (LCRWOI), held on August 28–30, 2023, at CT Boulevard, Zamboanga City.
Mr. Mohammad Omar, CBCS Secretary-General stressed the significance of financial management for NGOs, highlighting that it is a challenging but crucial component of organizational management.
Participants in the training learned about basic accounting for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that could further increase their knowledge of recording financial statements and reporting accomplishments every quarter. Specifically, the training covered topics on the Basic Concepts of Accounting for NGOs, CBCS Accounting Policies and Financial Flow Process, and introduction to QuickBooks – an accounting software that allows to keeping track of financial functions.
Mr. Danilo T. Mocsin, CBCS Admin Officer, with his team in the Finance in the persons of Allysa-Nor S. Daud, Jasmayra Salem, and Hamida Pangalao served as the Resource Speakers and Facilitators to the Workshops provided to the SRs.
Moreover, Mr. Alimudin M. Mala, Project Officer of the PROTECT-Peace project, gave an update and review of the project and presented management tracker to emphasize some of the SRs’ quarterly deliverables.
The said training was made possible in collaboration with CBCS Administrative and Finance Office and the CBCS-SUBATRA program.
