The Consortium of the Bangsamoro Civil Society, Inc. (CBCS), through the Transforming Alliance for Prosperity and Good Governance (TAP-GG) Project, conducted training on fund sourcing and financial management in the ten (10) cluster areas of the CBCS from December 9, 2023, to February 21, 2024, such as Soguda Buayan, Davao, Ranaw, Sharif Alawi, Sibugay, Samboangan, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Kutawato.
The said training was initiated as one of the results of the consultations conducted with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in 2023. It was identified as an indispensable need of the CSOs to support their organization towards a fully functional, developed, and operational organization to serve the Bangsamoro communities.
Mr. Ismael Kulat, the Project Manager of the TAP-GG Project, encouraged the participating organizations to utilize the empowerment training provided for them by the CBCS to contribute to the greater good and the advancement of peace and development in their respective communities. Also, Mr. Kulat highlighted to the participating organizations to be vigilant about the current conditions of the people and their community, to embody democratic values, to speak up whenever necessary and beneficial, and to always advocate for people-centered governance, wherein the government put a high premium on the active participation of the people in the community on decision-making, policy-making, and the delivery of services.
In the said activity, participants were equipped with the skills to develop comprehensive and compelling project proposals tailored to their organizational needs and funding requirements. The testimonies were solicited from the participants, and this translates to the profound impact of trained CSOs in advancing community-based solutions in their respective communities. The narratives encapsulate the core values of compassion and dedication to empowering the Bangsamoro communities, to which the CBCS has contributed for decades of operations, and in the years to come.
