The No Bangsamoro Child Left Behind in the BARMM project has recently reached a significant milestone with the successful procurement of services needed to implement Component 1: community mapping and the creation of a Dropout Prediction Model. This essential component aims to pinpoint key intervention areas by collecting detailed data on school dropouts and predicting students at risk throughout the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The procurement was conducted through the World Bank’s Systematic Tracking of Exchanges in Procurement (STEP) platform, which ensured a transparent and efficient process. This real-time online system managed everything from posting the request for proposals to evaluating bids and awarding contracts, adhering to the World Bank’s strict procurement guidelines for accountability and efficiency.

After a comprehensive review of submissions, the contract was awarded on June 10, 2024, to Kutawato Greenland Initiative, Inc., a consulting firm located in Cotabato City. The firm was chosen for its proven expertise in research, data collection, and community engagement, all crucial for the successful execution of Component 1. The data collected through community mapping will create baseline information and facilitate the development of a predictive model to identify students at risk of dropping out. This model will guide targeted interventions and enhance strategies to address the region’s dropout crisis, ultimately improving educational outcomes in BARMM.

The contract, which is set for six months, will conclude in November 2024.
