The Magungaya Organization for Peace and Development, Inc (MOPAD) is a peoples organization based in Barangay Muti, Guindulongan, Maguindanao del Sur is among the more than twenty civil society organizations (CSOs) engaged by the Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society (CBCS) in organizational capacity in order to actively partake in shaping the foundation of Bangsamoro Governance during the crucial period of transition being run and spearheaded by the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) and beyond.
Anent this, MOPAD initiated a brainstorming sessions on April 15, 2025 along with other CSOs, BIAF and MILF Leaders in the community that tackles the current status of the BTA transitioning process. In this regard, there are controversial issues arising from the appointments of the 3rd Set of BTA Members by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. On this matter, the Central Committee of the MILF already issued three resolutions and media statements expressing their sentiment and dissatisfaction over the non-consideration of the latter’s 41 Nominees to the new BTA Membership as conditions that its an MILF-Led transitional mechanism.
In preparation for any untoward progress in the implementing period of the GPH-MILF Peace Agreement. MOPAD President, Kaslah M. Kamsa appealed to fellow CSOs and Community Leaders to be vigilant and be mindful of any negative socio-political development . Mr. Kamsa stressed that: “That CSOs main function in partaking the shaping of socio-political landscape of the Bangsamoro as taught imparted by the two series of Trainings conducted by CBCS in the previous months must be put into practice.” As CSOs, they must prepare themselves to partake as a pressure group to the GPH-MILF Implementing Panels, even up to going back to streets for mass mobilizations if needed be to air the CSOs advocacy in sustaining the gains of the GPH-MILF Peace Agreements.
