The Convenors of the Tri-People Movement for Peace and Inclusive Governance (TRI-PEACE) released a Statement of Condemnation on the killing of Tribal Leader Ramon Lupos, which occurred on September 30, 2025.
According to reports, Mr. Lupos was on his way to harvest bananas from his farm when he was brutally attacked. His lifeless body — with his head severed — was later discovered by close relatives after he failed to return home by 5:00 p.m.
TRI-PEACE denounces this heinous act of violence and calls for a thorough, impartial investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice. The movement stands in solidarity with the family of the slain leader and the wider Indigenous community in their call for peace, justice, and protection of human rights.
