More than 400 household recipients of rice assistance in Rajah Buayan Cluster extend their thanks and gratitude to the leaderships of the Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society (CBCS) for the rice assistance they received during this trying time of fighting the spread ofCOVID-19 pandemic.
The distribution of the rice assistance was undertaken from July 14-16, 2020 in different areas of the so-called Rajah Buayan Cluster comprising the city of General Santos, South Cotabato, Sarangani and Sultan Kudarat provinces. The beneficiaries are selected “most affected” households from the members of the network members of CBCS as well as families within the coverage areas of each organization. Among those criteria ranges from widows and orphans, senior citizens, single parents, street vendors, daily wage earners, drivers and the likes or generally belonging to indigent families.
The identification and distribution process was entrusted to CBCS member-organizations in different areas spearheaded by CBCS Rajah Buayan Cluster Convener Group Lead by Prof. Morie Guiam and Co-Lead Convener Datu Zainudin “Melton” Ampatuan with their members and with overall supervision of Ustadz Ebrahim Sandigan who is the Cluster Area Coordinator for Rajaha Buayan Custer area.
Along side with the assistance is distribution of COVID-19 Primer as CBCS’s effort to remind the public that being under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) is never a signal for the public to lower their guard as the dreaded pandemic is still rising both in the world and specifically in the Philippines.
