It was June 19, 1971, 52 years ago when the killings of about 70 Moros happened in Barangay Manili, Carmen, North Cotabato. Five decades after the tragic occurrence, the Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society, Inc. continues to commemorate the significant event in the history of Bangsamoro together with its peace partners in solidarity and action. CBCS believes that the effort should not end in remembering the tragic event but as a rallying point to continue the public discourse on the essence of Transitional Justice as a mechanism for genuine healing and reconciliation among the relatives of the victims, survivors, and the Bangsamoro community as a whole.
